Splendid Things will continue their Saturday @ 9:30PM time slot at HUGE Theater through July and August*!! If you keep showing up, this could go on forever… DON’T YOU WANT THAT?!

Scenic Improv: The Splendid Way! April 3,10 and 17th – 1:30-4:30 $140

In this series of three classes, improv veterans Splendid Things will take you through their unique approach to scenic improvisation using Character, Narrative, and Genre. You’ll learn how to analyze and deconstruct your scenework using genre theory, how to stretch your limits and create unique, new characters, and how to make character arcs and scenic narrative a more instinctual part of your improvisation. The end result? Stronger, funnier, more meaningful improv.

Since this class focuses on extended scenework, participants must have at least an intermediate level of performance experience.

Taught by Hannah Kuhlmann, Eric Knobel and Michael Ritchie of Splendid Things.

Thanks for being patient while we took down our old website, switched hosts and then got this new one up and running. We loved our old site, designed by computer and video maven Amy Waksmonski. But we decided it was finally time to jump on the wordpress wagon and figure out for ourselves how these televisual computing devices work in concert with the intranet, or whatever the kids are calling it these days.

With Winter crapping its last few craps on the innocent people of Minnesota and Spring peeking tentatively around a corner just this side of the horizon, Splendid Things is starting to put its 2011 plans in motion. Look for us onstage (gasp!) in March at HUGE Improv Theater. And keep watching this site for more evidence of our offstage hijinx.

We’re in the middle of a site redesign, so things aren’t super stylish around here right now. But you’ll find plenty of information and even some actual comedy if you poke around.
